Laura is an award winning Graphic Artist who currently works with an outstanding team at OPSEU/SEFPO (The Ontario Public Service Employees Union) in the Political Action and Education Department.
A true Islander, Laura is “Grace Baby” originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland. She holds a degree in English from Memorial University of Newfoundland (specializing in Canadian Lit.) and is a graduate from the Visual Communications Program at Holland College in Prince Edward Island.
With 25 years’ experience as a “MadMan” working in the ad, multi-media, and marketing landscape she has touched upon virtually all aspects of the communications spectrum. From prepress set-up in the trenches of a print shop, to working at top Maritime marketing agencies like Moses Media, M5 Marketing, Pilot Communications and Graphic Communications, Laura has taken everything she’s learned and applied it to her work with the Labor movement. This strong foundation combined with a love of movies, theatre, painting, photography, crafting, model-making and writing are essential to how she interprets the visual world. At OPSEU/SEFPO she brings all these areas of interest into her daily design practice building and maintaining the union brand.
She is proud to be a part of a long list of Canadian artistic projects in roles as:
- Art Director
- Project Manager
- Event Planner
- Copy Writer/Editor
- Educator
- Prop Master
- Customer Service Representative
- Simple Animator/Cartoonist
- Social Media Content Generator
- Campaign Strategist and
- Graphic Artist
But what she most enjoys is when she can work with a talented team of folks like you who strategically use their FULL spectrum of skills, whatever those skills may be, to support campaigns for GENUINE change.
Let’s build a movement for good. Together.
