Workshops & Presenters

Activate the Political Power of Your Members with Robin Steudel
Your members are often the best messengers on your issues – but the way they are asked to engage is often stale, infrequent and has limited impact. We’ll cover three mini case studies where unions have helped their members use their political power to have a real impact – and show you how you can too.

Film to Win: Practical Video Skills with Rafsan Jugol
This session will focus on video production as a way to reach low-information voters. It could include a presentation component and a hands-on workshop where we create content. We’ll cover practical skills like sound recording, lighting, framing, gimbal use and basic editing.

Writing Great Headlines with David Climenhaga
Headlines make or break our texts. Whether the headline is for an article, a blog post or even social media text, how we’ve crafted the headline can make or break someone’s interest in reading on. In this session, David Climenhaga will present techniques to develop compelling and punchy headlines to help you break through the noise.

Strike-Ready Communications with Nora Loreto
Your campaigns worked: the members have voted overwhelmingly to strike. Now what? What should you prioritize for your strike-ready communications? Traditional media? Internal communications? Try to do it all? In this workshop, Nora will talk about the options, the best bang for your buck and what other unions are working on successfully.
