Chelsea Connor

Chelsea Connor has served as the Director of Communications and Media Relations for the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU) in the United States since 2017 and has led the communications strategy on the union’s campaigns at Amazon, REI, General Mills, and the union’s COVID-19 response among others. Chelsea also serves as the President of CALM’s sister organization; the International Labor Communications Association (ILCA). View full bio

Presenter

David Climenhaga is a journalist and commentator who has worked as a staff reporter and editor for the Globe and Mail and Calgary Herald, and whose work has appeared in many other publications. Since the Calgary herald strike in 1999-2000 he has worked in communications for the labour movement, as communications director of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees and communications advisor for United Nurses of Alberta. His political commentary is found at AlbertaPolitics.ca and on Rabble.ca. He lives in St. Albert, Alberta.

Nora Loreto is CALM’s editor. She is a writer, musician and activist based in Québec City with expertise in media literacy, social media, extreme snark and government relations. Nora is the author of From Demonized to Organized, Building the New Union Movement (2013), and contributed a chapter on debt and youth activism in Canada After Harper (2015). Will Carey is the Senior Content Operations Specialist at Stitcher. He is also the host/creator of the independently produced podcast Between Awesome and Disaster. Will is also a stand up comic with 16 years of experience and has performed in 6 countries across 4 continents.

Daniel Fung

Daniel Fung is the Communications Officer for MoveUP, a union based in British Columbia which represents nearly 14,000 union members in both the public and private sector. In his role, he supports the union’s numerous communications campaigns both for internal and external audiences. He also provides communications support to the union’s leadership, including speechwriting and message crafting, and is the co-editor for the union’s magazine, the Local Voice, in addition to managing the union’s web and social media presence.
